The Family Chalet de Lara was built in 1909 and restored in 1998 with old authentic materials such as brushed and hand-cut wood in the spirit of an old Valais mountain hut with modern comfort. The chalet is located above the Ferrat Gorge at 1200 meters above sea level and borders a natural reserve and offers a beautiful view, south-east, down into the valley to Champery and the imposing Dent Blanches range. The chalet can be reached after a 10 minute drive, up from Val d'Illez on the "Rives Plateau", past beautiful farms and chalets with a beautiful view of the Valais mountains.
